Welcome to Kuumba Nia Arts
Bringing Black Peoples history and contemporary stories to life through theatre and film
We
are an Oxford based Theatre Company working with stories from the
Black, African, Caribbean experience. Fusing storytelling, movement, song and dance with
historical and contemporary research from the Black Diaspora.
Exploring rituals of the past to give voice to parables of the present.
We create historical and contemporary pieces of theatre, run film screenings and workshops, promoting cultural discussion, debate, understanding, and education.
Our team is made up of actors, performers, and facilitators. Essentially we are passionate about sharing information on Black History, being creative, celebrating culture and having fun.
